Look no further! The BEST surfing company in all of Hawaii! We were able to meet surfer bear as he gave us some tips and tricks on how to surf before hitting the waters! But surfer Trae was the awesome soul that helped my boyfriend and me get ready for the water! I've always had a fear of ocean water, but Trae was very reassuring. Trae was very approachable, friendly, cheerful, and easy-going and it made our first-time surfing so much fun!

Do not miss surfing lessons with Barry (Bear)! Not only does he get you up and going quickly, he is kind hearted, honest, and is truly a "local". My kids (18 and 14) had a great time and it was a special treat to have some sample of local fruits (lychee nuts are amazing!). At the end of the two hours, he felt like a new found friend.

I took lessons with Trae from Surfer Bear and he was a great instructor, he was really positive and helpful with tips on ways to make little adjustments to really improve my surfing, not to mention the awesome tips on places to check out while on the Big Island. I really appreciated how Trae provided a very personalized experience, based on my comfort level and experience in the ocean. I would definitely recommend Surfer Bear for any family or friends looking for surfing lessons while visiting the Big Island.
